GREEK MYTHOS
The first title in the Godsunder series: a turn-based tactical party RPG set in the world of Greek myth.
You play a hero of legend and grow your following not by building units but by freeing captives, winning renown and earning loyalty. Your party delves, talks and bargains its way through a world where every god you provoke remembers, and comes for you.
Choose your hero
Every hero you can play comes from myth, and their own story decides who they are and where they begin. You stay that hero for the whole campaign. The heroes you don't choose live on in the world as rivals and possible companions.
- Perseusof Seriphos, who brought back the head of Medusa
- Heraclesof Thebes, whose labours began with the Nemean lion
- Theseusof Troezen, who went into the Labyrinth to face the Minotaur
- Jasonof Iolcus, who sailed the Argo for the Golden Fleece
- Achillesof Phthia, greatest of the Greeks at Troy
- Odysseusof Ithaca, who outwitted the Cyclops on the long road home
- Atalantaof Tegea, the huntress who drew first blood on the Calydonian boar
- Bellerophonof Corinth, who rode Pegasus against the Chimera
These are the first eight. More heroes and demigods of myth will join them.
Your saga, and theirs
Recruit a hero and they bring their own saga with them, played out by your party with you at its head.
Each hero keeps their fated deeds: only Heracles can face the Nemean lion, and only Perseus can take Medusa's head. Every other episode of myth is open to whoever gets there first. Reach the Cyclops's cave before Odysseus does, and that story is yours. His saga changes to match.
There is no fixed timeline to fall behind. The myths are the raw material, and what happens to their heroes, monsters and gods is up to you.
How a journey unfolds
Set out
Travel the land with your party and warband. The road itself brings encounters, rumours, camps and chance meetings.
Delve and decide
Enter cities, sanctuaries, caves and lairs. Fight in turn-based battles, talk, and bargain. This is where captives are freed and most renown is won.
Grow your following
The rescued join you. Heroes met on the road can become companions. Renowned heroes claim strongholds and attract followers of their own.
Stand in the great battles
At the great moments of myth, your warband takes the field in set-piece battles.
Face the consequences
Angered gods strike back at your holdings and hunt your heroes. The world turns what you did into new quests, rivals and omens.
Climb
From villages in peril to giant strongholds, the underworld and the slopes of Olympus.
The gods remember what you did
Living Mythos is the part of the game that makes the world react to you. It writes new quests, places, conversations, omens and divine responses around your choices, so no two campaigns run the same.
It builds on what the ancient texts actually say. Godsunder's Mythos Codex catalogues thousands of figures, places, creatures and artifacts from the ancient sources, including Homer, Hesiod, Apollodorus, Pausanias, Ovid and the surviving Greek tragedies.
The game's rules referee every outcome. Living Mythos tells the story; it never decides who wins a fight.
Olympus waits at the top
The campaign ends with the ascent of Mount Olympus. Each god holds a domain at a different height, so the climb grows harder as you go, with set-piece battles in the foothills and party play in the narrow heights near the summit, where Zeus and Hera wait.
Gods, Titans and powers
Every god you meet comes from the myths, and every one of them is designed for the game from the ground up.
